Families of current and prospective students between the ages of 15 months – 6 years old are invited to attend an Open House from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 1st, at 74-978 Manawale’a Street, Kailua-Kona.  Families will have an opportunity to visit classrooms, meet current families, learn about the school and its programs including financial aid opportunities, and meet faculty members and administrators.

Hawaii Montessori Schools has been part of the West Hawaii community since 1980. The school provides quality education for children ages 15 months through 6 years of age using the principles and methods of Dr. Maria Montessori. The classroom environments are well prepared and allow the children to develop at their own speed, according to each child’s own capacities in a non-competitive atmosphere. Learning takes place through the child’s own discovery and experience. Observers of Montessori students have described them as having developed self-discipline, self-knowledge, self-esteem and independence, as well as enthusiasm for learning, an organized approach to problem solving, and academic skills. Hawaii Montessori Schools – Kona Campus has been recognized on the State and Federal levels as being an excellent provider of early childhood education.

The fifth annual Kona Brewers Fest Golf Open will swing into action at the Big Island Country Club on Friday, March 11, with a shotgun start at 9am. The charity golf tournament benefits Hawaii Montessori Schools, a set of preschools that provides children ages 15 months to 6 years a caring, safe, child-centered learning environment. Golfers of all levels are welcome to play at this four-person scramble. Mulligans will be available at check-in.
