Hawai’i Montessori Schools will be part of the fun and entertainment at the 3rd Annual Keiki Fun Run held at the Kona Commons this Saturday, June 18. We’ll be giving out balloons and goody bags. HPD and Aloha Kona Kids will also be on hand to give out free Keiki ID Cards.

JAPANESE FESTIVAL OMASTURI will be held on Saturday, April 30th, in support of Hawai’i Montessori Schools and its Japanese Program. In this festival, all Kona Campus students will be participating in various events. It would be a wonderful experience and fun for your child, your family, and your friends. Please mark the day and enjoy Japanese culture!

NOTE: A significant portion of the proceeds from this event will also be donated to fund relief efforts for victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

The fifth annual Kona Brewers Fest Golf Open will swing into action at the Big Island Country Club on Friday, March 11, with a shotgun start at 9am. The charity golf tournament benefits Hawaii Montessori Schools, a set of preschools that provides children ages 15 months to 6 years a caring, safe, child-centered learning environment. It will set the pace for the 16th annual Kona Brewers Festival, presented by Sunetric, Keauhou Veterinary Hospital, First Hawaiian Bank, and Puna Geothermal Venture to be held the following day.

Golfers of all levels are welcome to play at this four-person scramble. Mulligans will be available at check-in. Through the generosity of our Golf Sponsors — Big Island Toyota, go!Airlines, Los Habaneros, Island Wide Solar and BMW — numerous prizes will be awarded, including a $5,000 purse for a hole-in-one. Cost for 18 holes of golf is $150, which includes greens fees and cart, welcome bag, continental breakfast, box lunch and awards ceremony with pupus.

This year, Hawaii Montessori Schools will be helping save lives from cancer by taking part in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life at the Old Airport in Kailua-Kona on Saturday, June 26 and Sunday, June 27, 2010.  We are hoping you will support us.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives people in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At the Relay For Life, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event.  Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.

In addition to helping people celebrate, remember, and fight back, Relay For Life also helps raise much-needed funds and awareness to help the American Cancer Society save lives from cancer.
