The school provides quality education for children ages 15 months through 6 years of age using the principles and methods of Dr. Maria Montessori. The classroom environments are well prepared and allow the children to develop at their own speed, according to each child’s own capacities in a non-competitive atmosphere. Learning takes place through the child’s own discovery and experience. Observers of Montessori students have described them as having developed self-discipline, self-knowledge, self-esteem and independence, as well as enthusiasm for learning, an organized approach to problem solving, and academic skills. Hawaii Montessori Schools has been recognized on the State and Federal levels as being an excellent provider of early childhood education.
