EARTHfest at Hawai’i Montessori Schools – Kamuela Campus

Hawai‘i Montessori Schools – Kamuela Campus will be holding their EARTHfest celebration on Saturday, April 27th from 7 am to 12 noon. In the spirit of Renew, Reuse and Recycle there will be a HI-5 Recycling sorting center, student-grown plant sale, activities for the children, food for sale and a huge indoor rummage sale.

The school is located at 64-1058 Mamalahoa Hwy, Kamuela, HI 96740 (next door to the Big Island Brewhaus).

This fundraiser is a collaboration of both the Kamuela and Kona campuses of Hawai‘i Montessori Schools. If you have gently used items you would like to donate to the Rummage Sale we will gladly accept them. Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used for our playground improvements, enrichment programs and classroom materials.

7th Annual Kona Brewers Festival Golf Tournament Benefit

The Seventh Annual Kona Brewers Fest Golf Open tees off at the Kona Country Club’s Makai Course on Friday, March 8th, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The charity golf tournament is the jump start for the 18th annual Kona Brewers Festival to be held the following day on Saturday, March 9th.

Golfers of all levels are welcome to play at this four-person scramble. Handicaps will be averaged with no minimum drives. Mulligans will be available for purchase at check-in. Dozens of prizes will be awarded.

The Kona Country Club provides the perfect environment for golf in scenic Keauhou just 6 miles (9.7 kilometers) away from downtown Kona on the Big Island of Hawai‘i, and features spectacular ocean and mountain views, excellent facilities and friendly service. The beautiful Hualalai Mountain protects golf course from the strong winds — one can always expect pleasant sunny skies and gentle ocean breezes!

Cost per golfer is $150, which includes green fees for 18 holes of scenic golf, golf cart, welcome bag, continental breakfast, box lunch, and awards ceremony with pupus. Preregister by downloading a registration form from the festival website at KonaBrewersFestival.com. Kona Campus Annual Rummage Sale

A huge rummage sale will be held at Hawai’i Montessori Schools Kona Campus on Saturday, January 26th from 7 am to 12 noon. The school is located at 74-978 Manawale’a Street near Kealakehe Elementary and the La’ilani Apartments.

There will be plenty of adult and children’s clothes, books, toys, baby items, household goods, sporting goods, and more!

This rummage sale fund raiser is for the Kona Campus Toddler and Primary Classrooms. We will gladly accept any items you would like to donate to us to sell at the yard sale. Hawai’i Montessori Schools is a non-profit organization so your donations are tax deductible.

Join Us for the 13th Annual WinterFest at the Keauhou Shopping Center

Families can kick off the holiday season with a day of craft-making, games, face painting, music and more at the 13th Annual WinterFest at Keauhou Shopping Center Courtyard from 10:00am to 1:30pm on Saturday, December 8th. The WinterFest is put on by Hawai‘i Montessori Schools – Kona Campus and is one of the school’s largest fundraisers.

Children can chose to make an assortment of festive crafts at the craft tables, win prizes at a variety of “everyone wins” game booths, play in a party bouncer, make their way through the train maze, climb up the rock climbing wall, have their face and hair painted and can enjoy horseback rides. The whole family will enjoy browsing the sweets and savories at a sumptuous bake sale, as well as the various vendors and businesses of the Keauhou Shopping Center.

A Silent Auction will feature dozens of items and services donated from community businesses including items from:

Hawai‘i Montessori Schools students will provide a special holiday performance at 10:00am, just prior to the onset of festivities. We will also be featuring entertainment from the Temana Rose Tahitian Dance Halau and West Hawaii Dance Academy. Children will also be able to have their picture taken with Santa Claus between 12:00 – 1:00pm.

Admission to WinterFest is free, and each booth requires a nominal fee for participation. Coupon books, valued at $16+, may be purchased for $10.00 in advance at both the Kona and Kamuela Campuses of Hawai‘i Montessori Schools and at Los Habaneros in the Keauhou Shopping Center. The coupon books include tickets for crafts, games and bouncer activities. We hope to see you there!

We are so proud to be named Best Preschool of North Hawai’i for a third year in a row! Our families, staff, and board of directors work diligently to provide our students the very best in early childhood education. Using the Montessori Method we are able to give the students a solid foundation for their whole development — mind, body, and spirit.

We are currently accepting applications for the 2012-2013 school year. It is our pleasure to assist families with financial aid programs, making attending Hawai’i Montessori Schools an affordable and superior childcare option.

The Hawai‘i Montessori Schools Kamuela PTO invites you to join us on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the beautiful Jacaranda Inn, Waimea for our Annual Lū‘au Benefit.
The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. There will be lei making activities for the children, a Hula performance by the Hawai‘i Montessori Students, live entertainment, a fantastic Lū‘au feast which includes Kalua Pig, poi, chicken long rice, lomilomi salmon, potato-mac salad, sweet potatoes, tossed salad and Mamane Bakery bread, a no-host bar and a fabulous silent auction featuring items from around the state and the mainland.
Tickets will be available for purchase in Kamuela at Hawai‘i Montessori Schools – Kamuela Campus, and in Kona at Hawai’i Montessori Schools – Kona Campus. Cost is Adults: $40.00, Children 6 – 12 years: $20.00, Children 3 – 6 years: $10.00, Children under 3 are free with paid adult. JOINS US FOR OUR FATHER’S DAY WEEKEND CARWASH EVENT!

HMS Kamuela Campus will be hosting A Father’s Day Fundraising Car Wash Event this Saturday, June 16th from 8am – 2pm. ALL proceeds go towards our Teacher Continuing Education Programs! Hot dogs and sodas will be available while you wait for your car to be cleaned. Tickets are $12 for a complete wash, or $17 for a wash and interior vacuum! Car wash will be held at the Hawai’i Montessori Schools Kamuela Campus – 64-1058 Mamalahoa Hwy; Kamuela – next to the Big Island Brewhaus. Come on by to support a good cause and get your car cleaned!
